Choose the Topics Block where you want to add the assignment and click Add an activity or resource. Select Forum activity from the Activity Chooser. Provide a Forum name a Description , and set the Forum type. There are other options such as allowing students to post for anonymously, as well as set Ratings. Click the [Save and return to course] button. Or you can select an existing discussion topic and select the Pin this discussion under the […] on the Forum activity page or by opening up the discussion topic and selecting Pin this discussion under the Settings menu.
Subscriptions When a participant is subscribed to a forum it means they will receive email copies of forum posts.
Forced subscription — Everyone is subscribed and cannot unsubscribe. Auto subscription — Everyone is subscribed initially but can choose to unsubscribe at any time. Subscription disabled — Subscriptions are not allowed. Lock Discussion Faculty are able to lock discussions to prevent further posts and replies. You will be returned to your course page. Delete a Section Deleting a section also deletes any content or activities it contains.
In the menu bar at the top of your course page, select Turn editing on green pencil icon. Locate the section you want to delete. At the top right of the section, click Edit.
From the Edit drop-down menu, click Delete section. This will open the Delete section page. You will be reminded that deleting a section will delete the activities contained within it. If you are certain you have moved any content you want to keep out of the section, click Delete. You will be brought back to your course page and the section will be gone.
Edit a Section Name or Summary You can edit a Section name right on your course page: Note : Collapsible Topic format can no longer be set to automatically name section titles with dates by week, but instructors can rename topics. Next to the Section name to edit, click the Pencil icon. An entry box will appear around the highlighted section name.
Enter the new name for the section. The Edit options will appear. To the right of the Section name to edit, click Edit. The Edit section page will open. To edit the Section name , select the Custom check box and in the Section name field, enter the new name. To add or edit a Section summary , in the Summary field enter a description of the section contents.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save changes. Step How to Image 1 If you are moving sections on a large module, click Close all to close all of your sections.
Drag the Move icon to the desired location for the section. Release the mouse button. The section will now be shown in its new location. If you have difficulty opening a section after moving it, turn editing off and on again and you will then be able to open the section.
Click on the Delete icon alongside the section you want to delete. Confirm your deletion. Please note that if you delete a section it will delete all content and student created content including assignment submissions. If you accidentally delete a section you can use the Recycle Bin function to try to restore the content.
Recycle bin will never restore section names or summaries. Moodle modules are organised in sections which can represent topics or weeks. Check the Custom box. Add your preferred title in the section name. Write your text in the Summary field and click Save changes. To add a new section within the current module structure.
