I developed relationships with two of the women I now call my sorors. I started attending events and meetings and learning more about the organization and what they stood for such as education, service, and supporting young girls and women.
Those were all values I saw in my life and this is one of the best decisions I've ever made since coming to Hopkins. I really wanted to be a part of the organization because they were doing great work in all of their communities and they were all about giving back and I really just wanted to be a part of that.
One of my now sorors, was actually in one of my classes and through speaking with her and going to events to learn what the sorority was about and meet the other members I knew the chapter was the right fit for me. I knew that SGRho was a sorority in which I could grow but also better the surrounding communities and it's the best decision I ever made.
I also wanted to a be a part of a collective that held sisterhood at its center. The people in my chapter are really amazing and I felt like I could learn form them and contribute to the greater good. They were so involved in all of the organizations they were involved in and that reflected in the chapter itself.
