It had been an untrademarked term in general use since at least Instead, the NAREB allowed the public, including realtors, to use the term as an ordinary noun for 33 years before applying for trademark protection.
Al: To most it really is no big deal. So, anyone would be correct to use the term interchangeably with real estate agent. I never correct people either if they misuse the term, and I only observe the rules when writing for the blog for the sake of accuracy. I agree with Al that it is silly to be ablw to copyright a word in the english language, either way after reading all this i am proud to not be a member of NAR.

What is this supposed to accomplish other than imply you have a dubious grasp of English grammar? It just makes you ad harder to read and insanely more annoying. Also, stop adding countless!!!! Goddamn it's like reading things written by 13 year old girls. I don't want to believe that the people responsible for selling or buying property worth hundreds of thousands of dollars have the mental capacity of a 13 year old.
